Traces, metrics and logs in a single container.
Cometrace takes OpenTelemetry over OTLP and gives your team a fast, keyboard-first UI to debug a slow request or a burst of errors. Run it on your own server with one command, or let us run it for you. Same code, same UI.
$ docker run -d -p 8080:8080 -p 4318:4318 -v cometrace:/data comettrace/cometraceUI on :8080, OTLP/HTTP on :4318. The first boot prints a setup token, no default password.

The trace view: waterfall on the left, the selected span's attributes, events and resource on the right.
Three signals, linked by trace id.
A log record knows its trace. A span knows its service. You go from a red line in the logs to the slow span that caused it in one keystroke.
Traces
Dense list, newest first, errors in the first column. A waterfall coloured by service, with every attribute typed: strings, ints, doubles, bools, bytes as hex, nested maps.
Logs
Filter by minimum severity, text and trace id. Severity always has an icon and a word, never colour alone. Expand a record to see its attributes and jump to its trace.
Metrics
Search a metric name as you type, get one chart per attribute set on a shared scale, and switch to the raw points when you need the exact value.
Made for the tenth visit of the day.
No onboarding tour, no dashboard to build first. 32 px rows, monospace ids, durations aligned to the right, light and dark themes that follow your system, and a shortcut for everything you do often.

The cloud edition is the same codebase and the same UI. Moving between the two changes where the container runs, nothing else.
Self-hosted
Apache 2.0One container, one volume. Your data stays on your server.
- Setup token printed at first boot, no default password
- Projects, ingest keys and api tokens per workspace
- Local accounts, plus OpenID Connect when you configure it
- Retention in days, set by an admin
Cloud
Free while in betaWe run, upgrade and back up the container. You get a workspace and an ingest key.
- Same UI and API as self-hosted
- Multi-region
- Retention up to 90 days
- Export your data and move to self-hosted any time
Your first span in two lines.
No Cometrace SDK. Any OpenTelemetry SDK or Collector already speaks OTLP; point it here with an ingest key.

Cometrace is open source. These teams run it on their own servers and fund the work.
